Ofsted have decided that 450,000 British school children need to disappear off the Special Educational Needs Register because they are too expensive to maintain. I do not think that this government can sink any lower. I might be wrong.

What else should we have expected from an over-promoted lunatic ex head teacher and a Secretay of State for Education who is clearly much more concerned with exorcising his own very weird demons than with helping children to grow and learn?
As a matter of principle, I have never supported the blanket stigmatisation of children through the ‘special needs’ designation so favoured by educational psychologists over the last 40 years. I am, however, appalled that any Government would even contemplate the withdrawal of personalised help for children, parents and carers, let alone enact it.
‘Let our children grow tall, but let some grow taller than others’ – Margaret Thatcher (real Tory Prime Minister)
‘I am not proposing to scrap 1st class travel, but I am abolishing 3rd class’ – Harry Perkins (fictional Labour Prime Minister)
What a bloody disgrace.
